The dictionary defines Eden as any place of complete bliss, delight, and peace. We also know it as the flawless biblical garden that Adam and Eve were placed in upon their creation. After they were forced to leave because of disobedience, the garden was locked up. Genesis 2:24 tells us that a cherubim with a flaming sword was placed at the entrance to guard the way to the Tree of Life. Man has never stopped attempting to reenter that unadulterated place. For millennia, it has been searched for, fought over, and speculated about.
The literal garden may be forever hidden. The state of Eden, and the path leading to it, however, is not. Our walk with Christ – our Savior, Lord, Redeemer, and Bridegroom- is akin to this path. The Lover of our souls offers us infinite delight, peace, and bliss in His presence. Not in our physical, material circumstances, but in the quiet rest of our spirits as they intertwine with His.
These are sparks of Eden – strolls through the garden where I meet my Lover.
